  1. Use the General Preferences pane to control Now Contact's basic operations.

  4. Date Stamp Format pop-up menu: Choose the desired format for the date and time information that you insert in several locations within Now Contact.

  6. Full Name Format pop-up menu: Choose the desired format for the Contact information that appears when you insert the FullName field in several locations within Now Contact.

  8. Listing Format pop-up menu: Choose how much information appears when you insert the Listing field in several locations within Now Contact.

  10. Date Format pop-up menu: Choose between Short, Medium, and Long formats.

  12. Time Format pop-up menu: Choose between Short, Medium, and Long formats.

  14. Auto save every __ checkbox and field: Check this box to automatically save your Contact File. Type the desired number of minutes in the text field.

Use System color palette checkbox: Check this box if you want Now Contact to use the standard system color palette. NOTE: Now Contact employs a custom color palette to provide special colors for certain functions. If you use a color Macintosh running in 16-color mode, you may notice that running Now Contact affects the appearance of both your desktop and the Apple icon in the menu bar. Using a custom color palette doesn't create any actual problems with your Macintosh.

  18. Closing last window quits checkbox: Check this box to specify that Now Contact quits when you close a Contact File's last open window. If you sometimes close all open windows of one Contact File and then open another one, leave this checkbox empty.
